The Career Guidance and Placement Cell has been constituted in the STAS in the year 2000. The objectives of the cell is

To organize campus interviews.

To provide necessary  guidance to the students  for getting placements in reputed companies and Industries.

To arrange Lectures of academic interest.

To arrange Lectures for personality development.

To make necessary interaction among the leading firms and professionals.

The cell has organized more than ten workshops and  seminar by eminent industrialists and academicians. Most of our students are working in reputed firms in the country and abroad . Efforts are also being taken to arrange mutual interaction with leading and reputed firms. 

Career Guidance Cell: Defining Directions
 

In todays changing world with changes happening in nano speeds It has become necessary to guide and create awareness among students about the changing world scenario, its impact on the Indian economy and on job opportunities. Taking this into concern we have developed a Career Guidance Cell & Placement cell at STAS Kottayam.

The Cell keeps itself updated with the latest international and national industry trends and the changing market scenario.It frequently organizes talks and seminars by eminent personalities of the industry and and other technical fields.

The other activities of Cell include:

* Presentations to outgoing students about the choices for global    careers
* Latest industry reports constantly updated
* Fortnightly updation of latest technology in the industry

There are no shortcuts to success. Therefore, we believe in beginning early to plan, guide and provide direction to the career path of all our students. The Cell works in coordination with the students inculcating in them a positive approach to work and providing them the solid backup of resources, so that they may acquire the necessary skills and vision to excel in their dream job.

The Career Planning & Placement Cell continuously invites organizations to visit its campus with campus recruitment programs. This provides students an opportunity to learn more about recruiting organizations and meet some of their key employers. This process makes a powerful and long lasting impact by exposing students to highly qualified professionals.

Interaction with Industry

The Cell assists students in developing an awareness of cutting edge careers by organizing guest lectures, conferences and talks from time to time. In addition, the cell has strong links with prominent industrial groups which conduct various pro students programs which enable the students to equip themselves.

At STAS we often conduct interactive programs for students to teach them with techniques regarding how to face an interview board and how to conduct oneself in a Group discussion and interview. Here we try to solve the various problems of students including both personal and social importance like peer pressure, time management, performance, anxiety etc. This interactive platform significantly enhances the introspective and problem solving abilities of the students thus leading them towards greater self-reliance in the learning process and achieve a significant breakthrough.
